Overview

Tsum Valley is one of the worlds remotest Himalayan Valleys, which was also a restricted region until recent times. This region was also once part of Tibet.

The Tsum Valley lies on the northern part of Manaslu, the region is off the beaten path making for a great experience and opportunity to witness the way of the local peoples life, encountering the rare and diverse wildlife such as, snow leopards, Himalayan Tahr, Pika just to name a few, wandering through subtropical forests and scenic wilderness views of incredible snow covered mountains.

The bright and beautiful colours of the prayer flags will often lead the way on the trail making for a magical cultural experience. Tibetan Buddhism is the major religion, it is a religion that inspires the regions lifestyles and traditions.

Another standout on this trek will be crossing the highest mountain pass of Larkya La Pass (5213m)

With an altitude of 8,163 meters the Manaslu is the eighth highest peak in the world.

The name Manaslu means “Spirit Mountain” in the local dialect; it refers to the strong but benevolent deity who resides there. The Manaslu is located near the border to Tibet. This region, characterized by a rich cultural heritage and unique landscapes, was opened to the outside world in 1992.
